Thank you families, for your partnership, your trust, your support, your advocacy, and your love for Shoemaker. Schools only thrive when families and educators work together, and we are so grateful to be in community with all of you. The first day of school for students next year is August 24th. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back in August and see just how much our students have grown over the summer. Until then — rest, play, read good books, spend time together, and enjoy every moment you can.

Summer Resources Events:
Neighborhood School Supply Distribution
When: Sunday, August 2nd, 9 am-2 pm
Where: LIFEGATE Denver, 10200 E Girard Ave
What: Sign up to get school supplies for your student this upcoming school year (Pre-K through 8th Grade).
All supplies are FREE; however, we ask that you please register so we can plan for the correct number of students. This is a first-come, first-served system and you must register for each student you need supplies for.
DPS Back-to-School Shopping Experience!
When: August 10-14
What: Get ready for the 2026-27 school year with a free shopping trip! The DPS FACE team is hosting personalized shopping events at our Community Hubs. Students can pick out grade-level backpacks and supplies all for free.
Denver Health at DPS is Open During the Summer! Denver Health’s School-based Health Centers treat most health conditions that affect school-aged children. Services are available to any Denver Public Schools (DPS) student and their siblings. In many cases, students are able to get same-day or next-day appointments. All services are provided at no cost to families and any Denver Public Schools student or sibling can be seen at the following summer locations.
