Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, our community gathered during Thursday morning Community Crew meetings to honor, learn, and celebrate the rich histories and traditions of Hispanic and Latino cultures.
We had student and teacher presentations throughout the month to share proudly about traditional dance, clothing, and music that hold deep meaning across various cultures. This morning, we got a performance by El Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant-Webster! These student musicians energized our school while sharing the deep cultural importance of mariachi music in Mexico. They walked students through the unique roles of their instruments giving everyone a firsthand look at how each piece comes together to create mariachi's iconic sound.
A special thank you to our student presenters, our guest performers from Bryant-Webster, and our Community Crew leaders for making Hispanic Heritage Month at Shoemaker such a joyful and enriching experience!
