The officers of the PTO shall include president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, community liaison, the principal, and two teacher representatives.
President: Matt Klassen
The president presides over meetings of the PTO and the executive board, serves as the contact for the principal, prepares the agenda for the meetings, and coordinates the work of ll officers and committees.
Matt has two children attending Joe Shoemaker School and he teaches at Regis Jesuit High School. Matt joined PTO because he wanted to offer what assistance he could as a sign of gratitude for all the incredible work being done at Joe Shoemaker.
Vice President:
The vice president acts as an aid to the president, performs the duties of the president in his/her absence, and prepares PTO communications for school newsletter.
Secretary: Cassandra Hergott
The secretary takes and keeps a roster of all members and voting members attending each PTO meeting, disperse the minutes to all members, and maintains current and past records.
Cassandra has one child attending Joe Shoemaker School and is a general education paraprofessional at Shoemaker. Cassandra joined PTO because she wanted to help support the school and its community.
Treasurer: Ben Currier
The treasurer keeps a full and accurate account of receipts and expenditures, makes reimbursements as authorized by the president and/or the Executive Board, presents proposed budgets, provides financial statements at every PTO meeting, prepares all tax statements, and assist in establishing a 501(C)(3) status for the Shoemaker PTO.
Ben has one child attending Joe Shoemaker and he is a lawyer for the firm Miller and Steiert, PC and sits as an associate judge for the Littleton Municipal Court. Ben joined PTO because he wanted to help make Shoemaker the best school it can be and to work to make the community even more vibrant.
Community Liaison: Katie Reinking
The community liaison acts as a representative of the PTO, welcoming all new families ad co-hosting an event for all new families once a month, ordering DPS translations service for all regular PTO meetings and any other events that may need translation services, and arranging for the translation of any PTO print material that is sent to families.
Katie is the secretary at Joe Shoemaker.
Teacher Representatives: Reeves Macdonald and Emiliano Rodriguez-Warner
The teacher representatives act as a liaison between the Shoemaker staff and the Shoemaker PTO, with the principal, present fundraising requests to the PTO, and report PTO activities at staff logistics meetings.
Reeves is Joe Shoemaker’s art teacher and Emiliano teaches 2nd grade.
